Katie grows up on the family farm in Lawtonicon-map-marker, Pleasant View township in Cherokee Co., Kansas. In 1909 she marries carpenter Charles Newton Malone from Denver in Colorado. He has grey eyes and red hair.

At first they remain with her parents on their new farm in Narcissaicon-map-marker, Ottawa Co., Oklahoma. At this time, Charles works as a carpenter. They soon move to Miami, Oklahoma, but by 1920, they are permanently back in Narcissa as farmers.

They have 4 children.

At some point late in their lives they apparently move to Welchicon-map-marker in Craig Co., Oklahoma. Katie dies in Commerce, Ottawa Co., Oklahoma, but she is buried in Williams-Timberhill Cemetery in Welch.
